Planting our stake in the ground.

When we opened shop in 2013, we thought about what kind of agency we'd want to hire if the flip-flop were on the other foot. There are plenty of agencies out there doing beautiful work, but if making their quarterly numbers is their primary driver, turning down any client with a budget can get tricky. If they're all things to all people, how do you know what they really stand for?

In our previous lives, we'd built brands for all sorts of companies, and although we had fun along the way, it didn't necessarily make us want to leap out of bed in the morning. But every once in a while, something would come along that aligned with our values, and it made a big difference in how we felt and an even bigger difference in the quality of our work.

When we had a chance to build our agency from scratch, we made a promise to only promote brands we genuinely believe in. No one wants to be one person at home and then have to morph into someone else when they sit down at their desk every morning.

We hoisted our flag and waited to see if anyone would knock on our door. It wasn't long before people started to say, 'Hey, you people at Good Stuff really get what we're all about, I dig it, let's work together.'

Being true to ourselves makes us more creative because we genuinely care about what we're doing. Our partners appreciate us going the distance, and most importantly, they know we're who we say we are because we walk the walk.

Our studio is in salty little Sausalito, where you can listen to the sea lions barking and can buy touristy shirts that say things like 'let's get shipfaced'. Good Stuff remains independent and fiercely dedicated to building bold brands that stand up for people, the planet, and animals.
