Marin Community Foundation (MCF) was known for its donor-centric approach, but its new strategic plan called for something much bigger: a brand that could embody leadership, community partnership, and a bold commitment to equity. We partnered with MCF to shift perceptions and redefine what a modern community foundation looks like—grounded in equity, powered by collective action, and built to serve everyone in Marin and beyond.

Designing a brand that feels like home.

We created a brand identity that feels as bold, welcoming, and forward-looking as the community MCF serves. Inspired by Marin itself, we introduced a vibrant color palette drawn from local icons—the lush greenery of Mount Tamalpais, the vivid orange of wild poppies, and the golden spirit of California. At the heart of the identity is the new logo, featuring “Sunny,” a rising arch that symbolizes a new dawn. Anchored by the rallying call Tomorrow for us All™, the new brand reflects MCF’s promise: to work with urgency, lead with equity, and believe in a brighter future for everyone.

Aligning purpose, voice, & action.

We began with a deep dive into MCF’s culture, shaping a brand strategy that unified teams across departments. We defined the organization’s core essence, key differentiators, and tone of voice, all anchored by a single, cohesive positioning framework. The result is a strategic foundation that empowers teams to communicate with clarity and consistency—whether engaging donors, nonprofits, or community partners.

A website that centers people, not just philanthropy.

MCF’s new website was a critical piece of the rebrand. We rebuilt the experience from the ground up, continuing to support donor services but also surfacing more storytelling, issue-driven navigation, and clear pathways for action. With thoughtful UX strategy and SEO enhancements, we made it easier for donors, partners, and community members to discover MCF’s work and get involved. The result is a site that positions MCF as a true hub for community connection—and invites all of Marin to be part of the future they’re building.

Bringing the brand to life.

From boardroom decks to community events, we extended the brand into every part of MCF’s communication ecosystem. We delivered tools and templates to support internal teams, along with branded brochures, print ads, email campaigns, and video storytelling—most notably, the Advisor Video Series, which reimagined how MCF engages its core supporters. The rollout culminated in a full brand launch and ongoing campaigns that continue to evolve with MCF’s mission.
